In the absence of a EMR to Practice Management System integration, some EMRs have the ability to export demographic and charge data into a CSV format, which can then be converted and readied for import into the billing system.

As a check and balance, daily charges and payments can be reconciled and tallied to make sure that no variances exist between the system and available files and/or manual batches.
